This winter it’s all about creating a WARM hair colour! Out with the icy platinum blondes, dull block coloured brunettes and here we introduce the cool kids on the street; honey, butterscotch, plum, amber, cherry, coffee and every shade of chocolate!

Leighton Meester…my all over style muse below is sporting the perfect example of a warm brunette.

Out with the blonde, bury the brunette and believe it or not the redhead craze is taking tinsel town by storm!

With big named celebrities like Blake Lively and Scarlett Johansson deciding to go down the ginger route, you can’t help but think red hair can’t be as controversial (we’ve all heard the carrot-related nicknames) a hair hue nowadays as it once was.

One thing is for sure, if you do decide to rock red or crimson locks, colour fade is set to become your biggest hair battle yet. Red hair is notorious for fading, so ideally you’ll need to touch up your colour every 6-10 weeks to maintain ultimate vibrancy and radiance.

TIP: KEVIN.MURPHY Hydrate-Me.Wash, infused with vitamin-rich Kakadu Plum, delivers an instant moisture boost to lacklustre locks. Hydrolysed Silk Extracts instantly smooth the surface, sealing in moisture to hair, while Vitamins A, E and C lock in that moisture to create that supermodel shine and a just-gotta-touch-it silky feel.

When I first saw all the metallic hitting the runways and gracing boutique shelves I thought… “What a blast from the past”; and not in a good way. School discos and bad high school movies came flooding back into my mind, BUT, this time around the metallic trend has been executed with a classic style, simplicity and class (also affordable for all budgets).

OUTFIT: For the love of all things tastefull, whatever you do DON’T wear Metallic top to bottom!! Leather looks fantstic as a combo as too a simple pair of jeans and chunky belt.

HAIR: Fee free to get creative…why not? Sass & Bide did it perfectly at London Fashion week with the ‘Upside down Braided Top Knot” – You can easily get this look at home by teasing out a high bun using again some Kevin Murphy ‘Powder Puff” (slightly obsessed with this product).

The perfect example can be seen from Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein at this year Oscars. Calvin Klein has largely experimented with crisp whites and loud pastel tones in their latest collection…but this look was tailor made for Gwen and took everyone’s breath away…sigh

Clashing prints and clashing colour palates are all the rage this season – what you think is wrong is now so right!!

OUTFIT: It is now the perfect time to be mixing and matching your wardrobe… (Trust me; your bank account will love you for it).

HAIR: …One rule; Keep it SIMPLE!!!

C’mon guys, let’s all channel our inner Rock Star!

OUTFIT: The key to the effortless ‘biker’ babe look is to mix the structured with the oversized and or dishevelled. It is so easy to create this look even if you are a girlie girl… just team a pair of docs or high top boots with a leather skirt, delicate knit or blouse.

TIP: Leather leggings can stretch most budgets and some of the knock-offs are certainly not worth it. Have a good look around and try the wet look denim as a great alternative.

HAIR: Looks that work best are the…I just got out of bed… or the sleek wet pony tail look. To create that effortless ‘up-do’ try using Kevin Murphy “Powder Puff” $35.95. I will never leave the house without this product…
